ADVISORY BOARD
Trenay Perry Bynum
Trenay brings over 30 years of experience in marketing communication across nonprofit sectors such as healthcare, mental health, and the arts. Now an assistant professor at Belmont University, she advises Tower Creative Communications and serves as a chartering advisor for the National Pan-Hellenic Council. Trenay is committed to advocating for media literacy among college-bound youth and holds a TEDx license. A Tennessee State University alumna, she also serves on the advisory board for HBCU Honors and is a dedicated community advocate and self-published author.
Stacee Bain Crittenden
Stacee is a Senior Vice President – Wealth Management and Senior Financial Advisor at Merrill Lynch, where she has worked since 2009, providing retirement, estate, and investment planning services. She holds a B.A. in History from Spelman College, where she graduated cum laude, and earned her Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University Law School. Stacee began her career as an Assistant State Attorney in Miami Dade County before transitioning to financial services. She co-founded Dining Divas and actively participates in several organizations, including Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and the Black Executive Leadership Council for Bank of America. Named to Forbes’ “Top Women Wealth Advisors, Best in State” list in 2022, 2023, and 2024, Stacee is committed to leadership, mentorship, and community service. She is a graduate of Leadership Miami, a recipient of the Orange Bowl Community Service Award, and serves on the board of multiple organizations, including the Lady Von Scholarship Fund and INOVA Fairfax’s Life with Cancer Advisory Board.
Saletta A. Holloway
Saletta is the Senior Vice President of the Board of Trustees Relations and Community Engagement, and Assistant Corporate Secretary at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN. With a background in marketing, community relations, and event planning, she has also owned an event planning and computer training company. A passionate motivational speaker, Saletta emphasizes faith in all her work, drawing on Matthew 5:16. She holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Trevecca Nazarene College and has received numerous accolades, including the NAACP Image Award and Women Who Make a Difference. Saletta is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., the Parthenon (TN) Links, and resides in Nashville with her husband and five adult children.
Shalamar Mohammed
Shalamar is a highly skilled real estate agent with over 30 years of experience in residential and commercial real estate, property development, and property growth management. Known for driving maximum value and investment potential for her clients, Shalamar specializes in managing the realty needs of professional athletes, business leaders, legislators, and celebrities throughout the Washington, D.C. region and beyond. She has expertise in sales, marketing, and managing new construction communities, often overseeing over $300 million in inventory annually. Outside of real estate, Shalamar enjoys traveling, arts, culture, and spending time with family and friends.
Andre Showell
Andre is an Emmy-nominated TV news reporter and communications strategist with over 20 years in media. Known for amplifying underserved voices, he has served as a White House correspondent, news anchor, and producer for outlets like BET News, CBS News, and Fox 5. Andre’s work has earned him multiple accolades, including four Telly Awards and two NAACP Image Awards. He is also a communications consultant, advising prominent leaders and organizations on strategic messaging and brand-building. His expertise in storytelling continues to inspire and inform audiences worldwide.
Max-Siegel
CEO-US Track & Field Indianapolis, IN | Martin University Board Vice-ChairMax, renowned sports and entertainment executive, has served as the CEO of USA Track & Field (USATF) since 2012, leading the organization to unprecedented financial growth and inclusive representation. Under his leadership, USATF has generated over $600 million in revenue and expanded its annual budget to a record $40 million. With more than 30 years of success, Siegel’s career includes roles as President of Global Operations at Dale Earnhardt Inc., Senior Vice President at Sony/BMG, and President of Zomba Gospel, where he led one of the most profitable divisions at Sony BMG. As the owner of Rev Racing, Siegel has transformed NASCAR’s Drive for Diversity program, producing stars like Bubba Wallace. A proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., he serves on the boards of RISE, Martin University, and Brebeuf Jesuit Prep School, and is a member of the NASCAR Diversity Committee. A graduate of Notre Dame Law School, Siegel is also an accomplished author and film producer. He resides in Indianapolis with his wife and three children.
Kai A. Smith
Kai is the Chief of Staff for Six Nineteen Spirits, LLC, a minority- and woman-owned brand in the ready-to-drink cocktail and mocktail market. With a background in media, talent management, and organizational development, Kai previously served as Director of Creative and Marketing Operations at BET Media Group and founded The BDH Agency. A Howard University alumna, she is also a dedicated community leader, chairing youth and HBCU initiatives for The Links Bergen County (NJ) Chapter. Kai is passionate about empowering talent and fostering brand growth.
Dr. Grant Winrow
Grant is the Vice President of University Advancement and Chief Development Officer at Lincoln University of Missouri, where he plays a key role in advancing the institution’s mission. A member of the HBCU Honors Advisory Board since its inception, Grant has over 30 years of experience in administrative management, public relations, corporate communications, and project leadership. He has also worked in entertainment production for nationally televised programs and spent over 12 years in higher education leadership at Tennessee State University. He is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., and a three-time graduate of TSU. A Nashville native, Grant now resides in Jefferson City, Missouri.
Erica Wright
Erica is a higher education attorney with extensive experience at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs). She currently serves as Assistant General Counsel at the University of the District of Columbia (UDC), specializing in public contracts, real estate, and procurement. A former litigator and Miami-Dade County ethics commissioner, Erica holds a B.A. from Spelman College and a J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law. She is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a published author, and an active mentor.
Lavern Chatman
Lavern serves as Vice President of Business Development at EDJ, a national consulting firm, where she guides growth across federal, private, and nonprofit sectors by building strategic alliances and partnerships. With a deep commitment to collaboration and community service, Lavern has spent decades advocating for minority and small businesses, advancing diversity initiatives, and fostering community engagement. As the former CEO of the National Urban League’s Northern Virginia affiliate, she raised millions in funding and spearheaded the creation of the renowned Freedom House Museum. Lavern is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and the Arlington (VA) Links Chapter. She also ran as a candidate for the U.S. Congress in Virginia’s 8th District.
Andre Johnson
André is a Partner at Manson Johnson Conner, PLLC, where he specializes in corporate and real estate law, overseeing multimillion-dollar transactions. A graduate of Howard University (B.A., J.D.) and Tennessee State University (MBA), André is also the founder of Unison Group LLC, a healthcare supply company. He is committed to mentoring small minority businesses and fostering strategic growth. An avid traveler and adventurer, André has summited Mt. Kilimanjaro, reflecting his passion for personal challenge and global exploration. Originally from Los Angeles, he now resides in Nashville, Tennessee.
Victor Wynn
Victor is a seasoned leader with over 30 years of ministry and civic engagement experience. Currently, he serves as Executive Pastor and Minister of Worship at The Temple Church in Nashville, TN, where he oversees staff, outreach ministries, and worship events as both Assistant Pastor and Creative Director. A Morehouse College alumnus with a degree in Business Administration, Victor also holds a Master of Theological Studies and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Vanderbilt University. An award-winning music and event producer, he has provided consulting and leadership for numerous organizations nationwide. Victor is Board Chair of the L’Evate Community Foundation and President of You Have the Power, exemplifying his commitment to service and community impact.
Dorinda Walker
Dorinda Walker is a pioneering Equity Architect and Inclusivity Innovator, currently the Chief Operating Officer at Expectant Group. With a remarkable track record in advancing equity through transformative marketing, Dorinda has driven over $100 million in sales and led groundbreaking campaigns that bridge cultural divides. As co-founder of Expectant Group, she connects brands with diverse audiences through culturally resonant campaigns and strategic partnerships. Acclaimed by leading industry media as an influential Black woman leader—including Forbes, The Network Journal, ANA, and many others—Dorinda’s work continues to redefine inclusive marketing and strengthen community ties across industries.
Andre Wells
André is the Founder and CEO of Events by André Wells (EAW) LLC, a premier event planning and design firm in Washington, D.C., known for producing high-profile, avant-garde events. A proud graduate of Hampton University, Wells is recognized as one of the most influential event planners in the industry, curating productions for top brands like FedEx, AT&T, BET Networks, and The National Museum of African American History and Culture. His work has been featured in Vogue, Martha Stewart Weddings, and Ebony. A member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and active community leader, Wells mentors and supports nonprofit organizations. He resides in Washington, D.C., with his wife and son.
Mariko Bennett
Mariko Bennett is a seasoned engagement and development executive with over two decades of experience in corporate political affairs for Fortune 500 companies in Washington, D.C. As CEO and Founder of COCO B. Productions, she leads successful initiatives for global brands like Amazon, Walgreens, Aflac, Raytheon, and JP Morgan Chase. Known for her dynamic and solution-driven leadership, Mariko consistently exceeds client expectations. She attended Clark Atlanta University and is the author of The Blueprint to Manifest Your Dreams, helping thousands turn dreams into reality. Mariko is a member of the Patuxent River (MD) Links Chapter and the immediate past President of the Coalition of 100 Black Women, Washington, DC Chapter.
Darrell L. Crapps
Darrell L. Crapps is the Founder and Chairman of South Pointe Global, LLC, an investment and advisory services firm serving government and commercial clients. With over three decades of entrepreneurial and executive leadership experience, Darrell has founded, led, and sold multiple businesses in logistics, technology, and specialized engineering services. As CEO of SENTEL Corporation, he drove a 150% revenue increase and global expansion before its sale to V2X. A licensed attorney and holder of a patent for RF-triggered explosive device protection, Darrell serves on several boards, including Cray International, LLC, and the St. Thomas University Benjamin L. Crump College of Law. He also founded Ignite Innovation Technology, LLC, a non-profit advancing educational and employment opportunities for women and underrepresented groups in technology. Darrell is a member of numerous organizations including Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. A Morehouse College and Florida State University College of Law graduate, Darrell is known for creating sustainable growth and value while emphasizing inclusive corporate cultures and strategic success.
Dania Jolley
Dania serves as the Deputy Chief of Staff and Cultural Affairs at Events DC, where she leads initiatives that celebrate Washington, DC’s vibrant cultural diversity. She collaborates with artists, community organizations, and international partners to deliver inclusive programming that enhances the city’s reputation as a cultural hub. With experience in strategic roles at Black Entertainment Television, Dania brings a deep understanding of entertainment and cultural production. A graduate of Hampton University and Trinity University, she is passionate about promoting the arts and fostering underrepresented voices. Dania is a proud mother and native Washingtonian.
Kimberly Fleming
Grammy-nominated artist Kimberly Fleming is an accomplished singer, arranger, and songwriter whose career began touring with Amy Grant, Trisha Yearwood, and Randy Owens of Alabama. A proud graduate of Fisk University and former singer with the renowned Fisk Jubilee Singers, she has worked with top artists such as Beyoncé, Destiny’s Child, Patti LaBelle, Garth Brooks, and Ray Charles. Kimberly toured for 15 years with Wynonna Judd and continues to make her mark in music, film, and television, with credits on soundtracks for The Harder They Fall, Elvis, and The Woman King. She also serves as a producer and vocal arranger, showcasing her extraordinary talents across genres.
Brucetta Williams
Brucetta is a seasoned marketing and communications professional with over 25 years of experience across the entertainment, non-profit, and government sectors. As former Vice President of Marketing and Brand Strategy at BET Networks, she led award-winning campaigns for major programs. Brucetta excels in omni-channel marketing, particularly in digital promotions for scripted and live events. A proud Spelman College alumna and MBA graduate from the University of Iowa, she is also passionate about real estate, community service, and global travel, having visited six continents. Brucetta resides in Washington, D.C.
Chinyere Hubbard
Chinyere is the Chief Marketing and Strategic Communications Officer for the Greater Washington Partnership, an alliance of CEOs and C-Suite leaders from Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., focused on fostering regional economic growth and competitiveness. She leads marketing and communications efforts across initiatives to promote the Partnership’s impact. Previously, Chinyere was Senior Vice President of Communications, Marketing, and Community Engagement for Events DC, overseeing public relations and marketing for major events and venues. With over 20 years of experience, she is an award-winning communications expert and has worked as a producer for NBC, CNN, Fox News, and more.
